As of April 2024, we are in the testing phase of our new template. Provided testing proceeds smoothly and any issues are resolved promptly, we aim to make it available by May 2024.

Our template is designed with three main sections to streamline charity accounting processes:

Record Keeping: This section includes two worksheets that serve as input screens—one for recording receipts from founders and another for logging expenses. Each worksheet features dropdown menus to accurately categorize entries, ensuring seamless functionality in subsequent features.

Budgeting: This area aids treasurers in reporting the charity’s cash flow to trustees. It simplifies much of the budget reporting process, producing two printouts that compare actual performance against the budget set at the beginning of the fiscal year.

Year End: The template aims to automate the year-end reporting process as much as possible. It uses the structure and format of the official OSCR template, reproducing these elements within our system. Based on the data entered in the Record Keeping section, it completes most, if not all, of the figures needed for the year-end report.

Upon release, this template will be offered for free to charities with an annual income under £250,000. This is because charities exceeding this income threshold are not permitted to use Receipts and Payments accounts. To help users maximize the template’s benefits, we will provide free recorded online training. Additionally, live online training sessions will be available at no cost, which charities can sign up for to learn about the template’s features and best practices.
